About the Super Doctors Selection Process
The selection process for Super Doctors is a rigorous, multi-step process that combines nominations, research, and peer evaluation.
The process starts with invitations to medical professionals to nominate doctors they would see if they needed medical care. These nominations are then combined with a search of medical databases, online sources, and publications to identify candidates who meet the Super Doctors criteria.
Candidates are evaluated based on a variety of factors, including:
- Professional achievements
- Awards and board certifications
- Years of experience
- Education and training
- Fellowship training
- Professional activities and leadership positions
- Other outstanding achievements in the medical field
After the initial screening, a peer-review panel evaluates the candidates based on the criteria mentioned above. The peer-review panel is made up of medical professionals from various specialties and geographic locations.
The top candidates are selected for inclusion in the 2022 Super Doctors list. Super Doctors selects only 5% of the licensed active physicians in an area.
The selection process for Super Doctors is the same as for Rising Stars, with the main difference being the eligibility criteria. To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, candidates must be active and fully licensed to practice for approximately 10 years or less.
