Houston Brow and Forehead Lift Surgery
Does the position of your eyebrows or forehead make you look “tired” or “angry” even when you aren’t? As we get older, loose and sagging skin can lead to drooping of the eyebrows. Most people feel that this negatively affects their appearance and often contributes to visual field loss from excess tissue resting on the upper eyelids.
Oculoplastic Brow/Forehead Lifts in Houston
The good news is that Berkeley Eye Center’s oculoplastic surgeon offers treatments and procedures that can tighten and lift the skin of the brow and forehead, giving our patients a more awake, alert and youthful appearance.
A forehead lift or brow lift can dramatically transform the appearance of your face by raising the upper eyelids and brows, making you look refreshed. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the natural look we can achieve. Our procedures don’t just make you look younger; they can boost your self-esteem as well, making you feel more rejuvenated and better about yourself. And the results achieved our team will endure for years.
Our highly trained Houston oculoplastic surgeon will give each patient a personal evaluation, with recommendations based on their individual goals and needs.
Houston Forehead Lift
We offer several different brow/forehead lift procedures, including:
Endoscopic brow lift is a popular, minimally invasive procedure in which the oculoplastic surgeon uses an endoscope, or tiny camera, to view the underlying structures during surgery. Making 3 to 5 small, nearly invisible 1cm incisions behind the hairline, we elevate the entire forehead, shift the brows into a more lifted position and remove any other tissue contributing to your lines and wrinkles.
Trichophytic brow lift is a procedure in which a portion of the forehead skin is removed to elevate the eyebrows. The incision is hidden at the forehead and hairline junction, with care taken not to cause hair loss. This procedure is best for patients with high hairlines.
Direct brow lift is mostly done on patients with significantly heavy brows, and can give dramatic improvements in eyebrow position, especially in patients whose vision is affected by the position of their eyebrows.
Lateral or temporal brow lift raises the brows to a more youthful position, giving the patient’s brow a more relaxed and refreshed look. This procedure is mostly done on patients who have more significant lateral brow descent.
Non-surgical brow lift raises the brows slightly using Botox, Dysport and other neurotoxin injection techniques. Best used for younger patients who are just beginning to show signs of eyelid descent or patients who are unable to undergo surgery. The effects are subtle, but can significantly improve eyebrow appearance in the perfect candidate.
What to Know About Houston Brow and Forehead Lift Surgery
Brow and forehead procedures are performed as outpatient surgery and typically take only a couple of hours to complete. Non-surgical techniques are done in the office. Bruising and swelling are common, while serious complications are extremely rare. Depending on the procedure, recovery times can last from a few hours for non-surgical lifts to a month for surgical procedures.
Most insurance plans do not cover cosmetic surgery. However, in some cases your insurance company will pay for procedures to correct or improve sagging foreheads and brow which interfere with vision.
