Brent McQueen, M.D., F.A.C.S. is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, he is board certified by the American Board of Eye Surgery in LASIK and Refractive Surgery.
Having performed thousands of ocular procedures, Dr. McQueen is repeatedly recognized as one of the top ophthalmologists by the Texas Top Doctors (TXTop Docs) and also by Castle Connolly Top Doctors.
Dr. McQueen attended Texas A&M University and was recognized as the “Outstanding Student in the College of Science”. Following early acceptance to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. McQueen completed an internship in Internal Medicine at St. Paul Medical Center in Dallas. He next completed his ophthalmology residency at the renown LSU Eye Center in New Orleans where he served as the chief resident.
Following completion of his residency, Dr. McQueen practiced in Lakeland, Florida, until he was recruited to join Mann-Berkeley Eye Center in Houston. Following a re-organization, Dr. McQueen became a founding partner in Berkeley Eye Center where he still enjoys practicing all aspects of eye care with an emphasis on cataract and refractive surgery. He strives to provide the best eye care to patients in a compassionate and honest way. Dr. McQueen also serves as a clinical professor of ophthalmology for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at HCA Kingwood and enjoys teaching the residents rotating through the clinic.
Dr. McQueen is married to his Kingwood High School sweetheart and has three adult daughters. He has served in medical missions all over the world and is also involved with a local prison ministry. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, raising cattle, target shooting and fishing. Dr. McQueen is also an AGI certified professional gunsmith and firearms appraiser.
