Jeffrey Jeong, O.D., is a Therapeutic Optometrist providing comprehensive routine and medical eye examinations, as well as pre and post-operative co-management of cataract and refractive surgery.
Dr. Jeong attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Jeong earned his Master of Science degree in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University with research interest in HAART AIDS/HIV therapeutics. Upon completion of his master’s degree, Dr. Jeong spent a brief time working as a junior research coordinator at the University Hospital’s Eye Institute where he gained an interest in the eyes. While there he also worked on the National Institute of Health funded Cornea Preservation Time Study.
Dr. Jeong then pursued a Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Jeong rotated through: the VA Medical Center of Chicago serving veterans with ocular pathology, the Cornea Center of Clinical Excellence at Illinois Eye Institute fitting specialty contact lens for keratoconic patients, the Rosenbloom Center of Aging providing post-operative care for geriatric patients, and the Chicago Public School offering eye care for under-served communities of Chicago. While pursuing his Doctorate, Dr. Jeong was awarded Clinical Letters of Excellence.
