Keith J. Ermis, O.D., cares for patients at Berkeley Eye Center – Wharton.
A Wharton native, Dr. Ermis graduated from Wharton High School and continued his studies for two years at Wharton County Junior College. He then attended the University of Houston where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Optometry, followed by his Doctor of Optometry degree.
Throughout the subsequent 11 years, Dr. Ermis practiced at several optometric clinics throughout the Greater Houston Area- from Bay City to Wharton to Sugar Land (Lone Star Eye Care). He then returned to Wharton to open his own practice, which he operated for nearly 14 years until 2012, when it was acquired by Berkeley Eye Center.
Dr. Ermis is actively involved in the Wharton community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Wharton County Youth Fair, is a member of the 100 Club of Wharton, and is on the Board of Directors for the Gulf Coast Medical Center.
He has also held several positions in the Wharton Lions Club since 1996. Dr. Ermis is also a member of the Wharton Chamber of Commerce, for which he has previously served as an executive board member.
Dr. Ermis and his wife, Amy, have been married more than 30 years and are the proud parents of two daughters—Kayci, currently working as an Optometrist at Berkeley Eye Centers’ El Campo location, and Kelli, currently completing her Master’s degree in Exercise Science at Texas State University.
