Julianna Mufarreh, OD is a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist who serves patients at several of our Houston area clinics. She practices full-scope optometry, from performing comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fits to co-managing ocular pathology such as cataracts, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration. She has a deep passion to serve patients of all ages and stages of life.
A native Houstonian, Dr. Mufarreh attended the University of Houston where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology, with minors in Chemistry and Arab Studies. She went on to earn her doctorate in optometry at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry (RSO) in San Antonio, Texas. During her time at RSO, she was extremely active in student organizations and served as a teaching assistant and tutor in multiple optometric courses. She was the recipient of the Clinical Excellence Award, awarded to those who demonstrated excellence in their clinical encounters, and the RSO Service Award, awarded to those who demonstrated exceptional involvement with student organizations and community service. She completed her externships at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and Neuro-Vision Associates of North Texas in Plano, Texas, where she gained experience in treating various retinal conditions, emergency care, neuro-optometry, and pediatric optometry.
Dr. Mufarreh is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and the Harris County Optometric Society. She has a profound interest to give back to her community, volunteering 200+ hours at her local children’s hospital and 10+ years at her church. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with family, and watching the latest reality TV show.
