Ben Roach, O.D., F.A.A.O., provides eye care in his home town community of The Woodlands, Texas. Dr. Roach is a residency-trained optometrist providing comprehensive eye exams with an emphasis on medical eye care and surgical co-management.
After graduating from The Woodlands High School, Dr. Roach attended Texas A&M University where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. He then moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he attended optometry school at Southern College of Optometry. During optometry school he was involved in the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, Gold Key Honor Society, and was an active member of the Student Ambassador program. He received clinical and academic awards and scholarships during his time as an optometry student including the Dean’s endowed scholarship and practice excellence awards. He graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors in 2017 with his Doctorate of Optometry degree. He then completed an intensive residency in Ocular Disease and Refractive/Ocular Surgical co-management at Eye Center of Texas in Houston. He worked as an associate optometrist in this collaborative medical optometry/ophthalmology setting for three additional years before joining the team at Berkeley Eye Center. During this time he also completed an optometric fellowship through the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Roach married his high school sweetheart (who is also an optometrist working at Texas Children’s Hospital) and together they have two young kids. Dr. Roach’s hobbies include spending time with his family, staying active and outdoors, and following his favorite teams- the Houston Astros, the New Orleans Saints, and the Texas A&M Aggie football team.
Dr. Roach is dedicated to providing full-scope eye care and enjoys seeing patients in his community with a variety of eye conditions.
